Join me for this 1-day workshop where we’ll focus on values as we develop a still life painting. Many of you have heard me say “color gets all the credit, but values do all the work”. I believe in that and think that appealing, strong, compelling paintings have strong value designs. Hence: Values are Sexy!
Let me show you how to develop a strong value design in your paintings. At the same time we’ll review the other key components of creating an appealing still life: composition, drawing and color.
The workshop is geared for beginning and intermediate painters; those who haven’t begun painting and those who want to continue to develop their painting skills. This workshop will help you take a leap forward in the quality of your work.
The workshop will be held in my studio at Hunters Point Shipyard, San Francisco. It’s limited to a maximum of 6 students. Painters are welcome to paint in oil, acrylic, gouache or other water-based paints. A materials list will be sent to you upon registration in advance of the workshop. If you are just starting out in painting, I will provide the paints and brushes for you for this class, to give you the opportunity to experiment before deciding to invest in these materials.
Cost of workshop: $80. This amount is refundable in full up to 1 week prior to the workshop; after that the registration fee is non-refundable.
To register: On PayPal send $80 to Bruce Katz Studio (bruce@brucekatzstudio.com). Or email to for me address to send me a check.
