Dear Painters,

Flowers are in bloom everywhere. Let’s put out some beautiful bouquets and paint them from life in this hybrid Studio/Zoom workshop. 

Let’s focus on painting flowers in an expressive, dynamic, looser way…a way to convey the essence of the flower or the arrangement, rather than a literal rendition. We’ll break down the process into bite sized steps to end up with completed paintings. Spoiler alert: it’s all about shapes, values and color!

9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Pacific Time) 
In my studio or on zoom 

Those joining on Zoom will set up their own still life subjects at home. Those coming to the studio can paint the subjects I’ll set up or bring your own.

Let’s set our goal on painting two different bouquets/groupings of flowers during the workshop. We’ll start with some value sketches in black & white and move towards full color paintings. 

Once you register I’ll email you all some sample paintings of mine and others for ideas and inspiration.

Here’s the idea:

• The workshop will consist of two 3-hour parts with an hour lunch break from 12:00-1:00.
• This schedule will give us time to focus with more depth on the key elements of composition, value and color.
• As we progress I’ll be able to review everyone’s work, answer questions, make suggestions, etc.
• All painting mediums are welcome; paper or canvas as to your preference.
• I’ll be able to have up to 6 painters in the studio.
• Others can join the Zoom workshop on your laptop, desktop or iPad.
• A materials list – and more details about the process – will be sent to you once you register.

The cost is $135. This amount will be fully refundable up to 3 days prior to the workshop; after that the registration fee is non-refundable.

1) Send me an email and let me know you’re planning to register so I can put your name on the list.

2) Send me your payment on either PayPal (pay to bruce@brucekatzstudio.com) or Venmo (pay to @Bruce-Katz-9)  or by check. I’ll send you my address if you need it.
