Join me for this 1-day workshop where I’ll teach the process of painting a still life subject from life. I’ll work with you individually, in a hands-on, step-by-step fashion, guiding you from start to finish and focusing on aspects of the process. The workshop is geared for beginning and intermediate painters; those who haven’t begun painting and those who want to continue to develop their painting skills.
The workshop will emphasize the essential elements of creating compelling still life paintings: composition, drawing, color and value. The goal is that you’ll leave with the confidence and knowledge to continue to develop as a painter.
I’ll be doing several demonstration paintings during the day, at the start of each step of the process. Following those demonstrations, you’ll be working on your paintings as I come around and offer assistance.
Painters are welcome to paint in oil, acrylic, gouache or other water-based paints. A materials list will be sent to you upon registration in advance of the workshop.
The workshop is limited to 10 persons.
Cost of workshop: $80 for non-members of the art center and $75 for members. The Frank Bette Center for the Arts refund policy is stated on their website.
