For intermediate plein air painters that want to learn to the process and best practices for painting outdoors in the city or for painting outdoors with subjects that include all types of architecture. I will work with you individually in a hands-on, step-by-step fashion, guiding you from the start to finish of your painting. I’ll focus on aspects of the process including composition, drawing, perspective, color, value and paint handling. The class goal is that you’ll leave with confidence and knowledge to continue to develop as a plein air painter, as well as learning to broaden your potential subject matter. I’ll begin with a short demonstration painting to get the class started, followed by participants setting up and painting their own subjects. We’ll continue the day with short demonstrations at each stage of the painting process, followed by you continuing to develop your paintings.
